It is not one fixed price for the whole network. Your electricity rate, ASIC efficiency, actual uptime, pool fee, and expected KAS output determine the number.

 

For Kaspa miners, this calculation matters because profitability can change from both sides at once. KAS price can fall, while a higher network hashrate or declining emissions can reduce the number of KAS earned per unit of hashrate. The Kaspa mining shutdown price is an operating break-even point. It answers a narrow question: “At what KAS price does this machine’s estimated daily revenue equal its daily cost?” It does not answer whether the original machine purchase will be recovered, whether holding KAS is suitable, or whether another coin or machine would be more attractive.

 

Revenue and profit should be kept separate. Revenue is the fiat value of the KAS you expect to earn. Operating profit is what remains after electricity, pool fees, hosting, cooling, maintenance, and other recurring costs. A machine can produce KAS every day while still operating at a loss in fiat terms.

Worked example

Assume a Kaspa ASIC has these measured or estimated inputs:

The electricity cost is 3.0 × 24 × $0.08, or $5.76 per day. Add $0.60 of other costs and total daily operating cost is $6.36.

At a KAS price above roughly $0.0707, this example has a positive operating margin before equipment depreciation and capital recovery. Below it, the miner is cash-flow negative under these assumptions.

 

The threshold changes quickly when inputs move. At $0.10 per kWh, the same machine’s daily cost rises to $7.80 and its shutdown price becomes about $0.0867 per KAS. If output falls to 75 KAS per day while daily cost remains $6.36, the shutdown price becomes about $0.0848 per KAS.
